What we build with · and why

Our tech stack.
Established platforms, picked for the job, so your project is easy to run after the build.

Digital Vision is a small studio in Wales, led by Pete Griffin, building websites and apps on a small set of platforms I know well. Here is what they are, what each one is for, and why that suits the people I build for.

in short

Few tools.
Well known.
Right for the job.

What it is

ToolWhat I use it forWhy
Wix HeadlessWebsites that need business features: a shop, bookings, forms, content, members.Wix runs the hosting, payments and business tools. I design the front end without being boxed in by a template.
Base44Custom business apps: one tool for one job, with logins for different people, reports and AI inside.Working apps in days, not months, so you can try one before committing to a bigger build.
Wix appsAdd-ons that live inside a Wix site. Four are live on the Wix App Market.I know the platform from the inside, because I publish on it.
Cloudflare WorkersThe small servers some tools need behind the scenes, such as the engine behind SurfacedGEO.Small, fast and cheap to run. Nothing for you to look after.
AI: Claude and GeminiClaude to build and review the work. Gemini and other models inside products where reading, sorting or scoring earns its place.Faster building and more checking. A person still makes the decisions.
VercelPlain, fast pages, like this site.No database or login to go wrong when a page only needs to be read.

Why it suits you

Nothing exotic to look after

These are platforms with big companies behind them, public documentation and support teams. If you ever want someone else to take over, they can.

The right size of tool

A shop does not need a custom system, and a rota does not need a website. I pick by the job and say so if a simpler option serves you better.

One point of contact

The person who listens to what you need stays with the project and answers when something changes, with a network of specialists to bring in when it needs them. Nothing is lost between a salesperson and a developer.

  • Hosting and security are handled. The platforms look after servers, updates and uptime, so there is no server of mine that your business depends on.
  • Quick to see something real. A working version early means you correct it while it is cheap to correct.
  • AI where it earns its place. Reading, sorting, summarising and scoring, never replacing the decision that belongs to you.
  • Checked before it ships. My apps go through four separate reviews before release, and I test what I build rather than assume it works.

What separates us from vibe coders?

We build with AI too. The difference is what happens after it writes the code.

How I choose

If you needI reach for
A website with a shop, bookings, content or membersWix Headless. See Wix development.
One tool for one job, with logins for different peopleBase44. See Base44 development.
A branded app on your members' home screensBase44. See member apps.
Something no platform does out of the boxA small Cloudflare Worker alongside one of the above.
A page that only needs to be readPlain pages. No platform needed.

If none of these fits your project, I will tell you in the first conversation rather than make it fit.

Questions people ask about the stack

Why not a fully custom-coded system?

Because most small businesses are better served by platforms that are already hosted, secured and supported by a large company. There is less to maintain and nothing that only its builder understands.

How do you decide which tool to use?

By the job. A website with a shop, bookings or content goes on Wix Headless. One tool for one job, with logins for different people, goes on Base44. If a good website would serve you better than an app, I say so in the first conversation.

Where does AI come in?

In two places. I use Claude to build and review the work, and I put AI inside a product only where it earns its place, with a person still making the decisions.

What separates us from vibe coders?

We build with AI every day, so the speed is the same. The difference is what happens after the code is written.
